EmiratesGBC Hosted Green Building Tour and Workshop with Dubai Chamber

Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) partnered with Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide a green building tour of the Dubai Chamber headquarters,  the first ever LEED-certified existing building in the Arab world and fourth outside of North America.  The tour took place on 28 March 2012 and shared Dubai Chamber’s LEED and post-LEED green building efforts implemented in the building as well as several pioneering green features.  A workshop, facilitated by Dubai Chamber, was also held to discuss the various facets of LEED certification and to exchange ideas on greening other existing buildings.

A Strategic Planning exercise was conducted by the EGBC Management Committee, which included reviewing the Vision and Mission, identifying the Critical Success Factors and conducting a SWOT Analysis. The exercise resulted in the identification of key goals for the next 12 months.  A process has been developed for the delivery of the goals and task forces made up of EGBC members will prepare plans/strategies for implementation.
